Red, White, and Rainy

Rain Jacket (last year... Similar) // Button Down // Shorts ($15 on sale!!!!) // Necklace // Hat c/o // Boots

Hello Lovelies! I would just like to start off by saying this is probably my favorite outfit post I've ever put together for y'all. Red, White, and Blue are such an iconic color combination and I love the mood that shooting on the docks brought with it. It was a pretty yucky day outside, but I wasn't even mad because I leo an excuse to break out my raincoat. It's such a fun pop of color to an outfit and it's like my little bright spot in a dreary day. I love the lightweight material because I can't handle a heavy jacket when it's already humid and sticky out. The drawstring waist gives it just the right amount of shape and I like being able to change how boxy it is on a day to day basis. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how satisfying it is that the red rain jacket matches the red trim of the Hunter logo? #OCDsatistfaction at it's finest. This outfit is definitely one of my favorites of the summer and I have a feeling I'll be getting my wear out of it!

Adirondack Adventures

Hello lovelies! I'm sososo excited to bring you a post from my vacation. This is the second year in a row that I have joined my best friend and her family on their trip to their lake house in the Adirondacks! For those that are unfamiliar, the Adirondacks (ADK's) are mountains in upstate New York. We stay on Oxbow Lake, which is one of 4 or 5 in the area of Speculator. It is hands down one of my favorite places I've ever been to. I don't know about y'all but I'm certainly a lake girl more so than a beach girl, and the ADK's are my perfect cup of tea.

Boating has got to be one of my favorite parts of lake life. I'm not the most talented when it comes to water sports, but they're so much fun! We all have a competition for who can get the most air while tubing, and I would just like to throw it out their that Morgan and I are still under review as contenders! It's a great time killer and a wonderful way to get everyone involved. It's also such a work out. I would go as far as calling it #ArmDay 😉

If we weren't out on the big boat, we would go out in the kayaks to fish. Well... I don't know if you could call it fishing because in the entire 12 days we were there, no one caught a single thing. We had one or two bites between the three of us the entire time we went out. It was horrid. We had much better luck last year and if you are catching, you can expect to get some bluegill, large/small mouth bass, saugeye, sunfish, and the occasional catfish.

It is not a trip to Speculator if you don't stop in town for King of the Frosties. This little restaurant is home of the best ice cream ever! They have both soft serve and hard serve (???) ice cream and with a huge list of flavors, you can really have whatever strikes your fancy. If ice cream wasn't enough they have a killer breakfast menu. A final trip to Frosties for breakfast on the last day is a quintessential part of the trip.

While we were in town, we stopped at the cute little produce market and found a super neat little piece of history. A local had created a whole town of tiny house, including buildings such as a General Store, Post Office, Barber Shop, Ice Cream Parlor, and a house! They were all created to replicate life in the 20's and they're filled with antique treasures. It was such a neat experience and absolutely precious.

The sunsets in the ADK's are unmatched. It's such a serene way to end every night. Nature is so breathtakingly beautiful and it's so important to take moments for ourselves to appreciate it and reflect. I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to go and experience nature in its purest. Have you ever been to the ADK's? What's your favorite thing to do?

Catch Up Buttercup

Hello Lovelies! Long time no blog... Instead of a Weekly Peak, I thought I would catch you guys up on what I've been up to lately. I nanny Monday-Friday every week, so it has left a little to be desired in terms of having time for summer adventures. However, I am making due with the time I've had! Here's what I've been up to

Let me tell you guys something-- I am on a mission to make overalls a thing again. I am starting to see them come back and it just makes my heart really happy!! In my typical mom fashion, I wore them to go watch my favorite littles' soccer game. They were tournament runner-ups!

National Donut Day? Donut mind if I do 😉

Sorry for the snapchat selfie but 6 inches later, here we are! After much too much twitter contemplation, I bit the bullet and chopped off my hair. While the original cut was about an inch shorter than I wanted, I went ahead and cut the whole 6 inches to be able to donate it. It's grown out a bit now and I must say that I absolutely love it and it feels so healthy!

I spent a week and a half with my best friend in the Adirondack Mountains for the second year in a row! We drove up together and it was our first road trip by ourselves and it was so so so much fun. Expect a full post on the trip soon!

Cow appreciation day was recently, and Chick-fil-a does free meals for anyone that dresses up like a cow! I took the kids I nanny and they had a blast with it.

I SAW KEITH URBAN IN CONCERT! I am lucky enough to live really close to a pretty popular country concert venue, so I've seen a ton of artists. I've been trying to see Keith Urban for three years and I was finally in town when he was! He's such a great performer and I may or may not have cried during Stupid Boy when he sang it for the encore but that's okay.

Most recently, I partnered with Cathleen (Classy Cathleen) for a whole month of giveaways! It's been so much fun co-hosting #CarlyCathCmas and we've gotten to team up with so many great companies to bring 4 weeks of christmas in July to you all. This week is the last giveaway so if you haven't won anything yet, there's still a chance! Check out all the details on my instagram, @cinciprep

I've got a little bit more time on my hands to produce some content, and while I try to never apologize for my occasional blogging hiatus, I am so excited to be getting back into the swing of things!

Summer Reading List

Hello lovelies! Summer is my absolute favorite time of year when it comes to reading. I have all the time in the world to go through books, and I really really enjoy it. I've been an avid reader since I was little, and I'm always looking forward to finding new titles. These are all books that I am hoping to knock-out this summer– I love adding to my life's library! You can check out reviews for last summer's books here and here.
